Lance Basserabie is a seasoned financial expert with over 25 years of experience in investment banking, asset management, and financial markets. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Actuarial Science from the University of Witwatersrand.
Lance began his career at Fedsure Life and later worked at Standard Bank’s Corporate and Investment Banking Division, Worldwide Capital, and Collective Life. His expertise includes fixed income, equity, and derivative structuring and development. He has successfully assisted in establishing local and offshore equity and index ETF asset management businesses.
Lance possesses extensive experience in project management, transaction structuring, client relationship management, capital raising, and deal sourcing, making him a valuable asset to our team.

Patricia Phomane is a highly experienced Executive Director with a strong background in corporate finance and investment management. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Investment Management Honours from the University of Johannesburg.
Prior to joining Vunani Corporate Finance, Patricia worked at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), where she regulated listed companies, ensuring compliance with JSE listing requirements, the Financial Markets Act, the Companies Act, and the King Code on Corporate Governance.
Patricia brings valuable insights and expertise to our team, honed from her experience at the JSE and in corporate finance.

Peter Ssonko is a seasoned corporate financier with diverse experience in investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and capital raising. He began his career at Citibank as an Equities Research Associate and later worked for a boutique investment banking firm.
Most recently, Peter was at Siyakha Capital Advisors, where he executed private equity and capital raising transactions across various sectors.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Rhodes University and a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Financial Planning from Nelson Mandela University. He is a JSE-approved executive and a skilled valuation expert.

Zizo Maraule leads our Sponsor division, bringing over 5 years of experience in corporate finance and equity trading. She began her career at Vunani Securities in 2015 as a Trainee Equity Trader, progressing to Junior Equity Trader within a year.
Zizo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies. Her expertise spans various sectors, encompassing corporate finance transactions and sponsor work.
A qualified JSE Approved Executive, Zizo successfully completed the JSE Sponsor Development Program exam, demonstrating her expertise in regulatory compliance and sponsorship.

Busisiwe Molefe is a skilled investment professional with expertise in economic policy, equity analysis, and corporate finance. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Economics and Econometrics (Cum Laude).
Busisiwe’s experience includes stints at the National Treasury of South Africa as a Trainee Economist, focusing on microeconomic policy, and as a Trainee Equity Analyst at Vunani Securities.
She joined the Corporate Finance team in 2021 and currently manages the Vunani Fintech Fund and Ditikeni Vunani Transformation Fund. Her expertise encompasses capital raising, due diligence, valuations, investment management, and M&A.

Yongama Volibi is a talented analyst with a strong foundation in accounting and finance. He graduated from the University of Johannesburg in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and subsequently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Science (CTA).
Yongama gained valuable industry experience through his audit articles at Ernst & Young, completing them in 2023. He now qualifies to register as a Chartered Accountant (South Africa).

In his prior position, Sa’eed was responsible for digital marketing, social media management, and product promotion. He also developed expertise in market research, analysis, and reporting.
